STEM Week – Monday 12th March – Friday 16th March 2018.
This week we have taken part in lots of activities as part of our whole school STEM week. We created ocean grabbers as our Learning Log project and tested these in the swimming pool, to see how well they would pick up rubbish from the water. We were very surprised by how well some of them worked! We used recycled materials and designed these ourselves. We also painted plastic bottles with blue paint and helped create a recycled wave, that everyone in the school has played a part in building.
In computing with navigated the Beebots around an ocean map and tried to avoid the plastic objects that got in the way. We also used the marble runs to see how we could slow the marble down and used pieces of plastic as obstacles.
From this week we have learnt that we all need to play a part in recycling plastic to help save our planet and the animals that live in the ocean.
