Welcome to our Governors’ section.
Please find below details of how our Governing body is structured, including the names, categories, responsibilities and terms of appointment for each Governor.
Our main role as governors of Great Missenden School is to work with the Headteacher and Senior Management team to set and reach targets and strive for excellence in all aspects of school life.
Our work focuses on three core areas:
1. Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction;
2. Holding the headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils; and
3. Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent.
Our Governing Body meets twice a term. We have the following committees, usually meeting termly: Finance, Personnel, Learning and Teaching, Extended Schools, and Premises, Health & Safety and ICT.
There are four categories of governor, appointed by different groups that have an interest in the school. These are Parents, Staff, Foundation (appointed by the Church) and Community governors. All governors have equal status, however they are appointed.
