Year 5 – Great Missenden won 6-0!

Team: Sarah, Hattie, Emily, Laura, Ellie and Lydie.

In the first quarter we didn’t manage to score any goals but kept Prestwood from scoring too.

In the second quarter, Laura managed to score our first two goals and Hattie made sure Prestwood didn’t score any goals. Then just before the whistle blew for half time, Ellie scored her first goal.

In the third quarter, Hattie, who was playing Goal Attack, managed to score another goal, so we already had four great goals for Great Missenden.

In the final quarter we managed to get the ball up to our end, then after lots of attempts from Emily, Sarah managed to get the ball in. Then Sarah scored once more before the last whistle blew, leaving us with a win 6-0.

Year 6 – Great Missenden won 4-2!

Team: Tilly, Hannah, Molly, Sadie, Abi, Luisa and Isabella

The game started with an excellent goal from Luisa. The next centre pass was taken by Prestwood and as the ball travelled towards their goal, Tilly intercepted the ball and it was back up to our side of the court. Tilly then scored a goal for us. The second quarter started with an excellent pass from Isabella, Hannah attempted a shot but unfortunately it missed.

In the third quarter, Prestwood started from centre, Sadie was our centre and was one of the best players on court. The ball was passed to Hannah who scored her first goal of the game. Then Prestwood scored a goal just before the last quarter.

The fourth quarter started with another brilliant pass from Luisa to Tilly, and then Tilly passed to Abi, who scored our fourth goal. We just had under a minute left and Prestwood were eager to score another goal, which they did. However the final score was Great Missenden 4, Prestwood 2.

Special mention to Cat and Emmy who were both injured but were great cheer leaders and supported the team.

On the 18th November, ten girls from Year 6 went to the Amersham School to play in a netball tournament. We had two teams. There was Tilly, Hannah, Bethany, Harriet and Jasmine in one team and Molly, Abi, Izzy, Emily and Danielle in the other.

Great Missenden won the first match against St Josephs. We played extremely well and won 8-1. Hannah scored 3 scores and Tilly scored 5. Harriet was brilliant at getting into space.

The second game went well and we won 4-2. Bethany made some wonderful passes and Jasmine scored a goal! The next game we sat out, but cheered on our second team.

In our last match, we scraped a draw, however in our group we came first, so we did really well.

Our second team came third in their group and certificates were awarded all round. Well done Great Missenden!

A fantastic win for year 6 in their first netball match this year. Great shooting from Hannah, Cat, Tilly and Luisa and well done to Molly, Isabella and Emmy who played great passes into the circle.

Year 5 also played well and ran around the court creating opportunities to shoot - but the ball refused to go in! It was a very close game and the score does not reflect the effort the girls put in. Well done to Hattie, Sarah, Laura, Rachel, Isabella, Emily S and Emily H.
