Outdoor games takes place on a Friday afternoon. We have mixed up all 3 classes so your child will have the opportunity to make even more friends! Please ensure your child has the correct PE kit, including clothing to match weather conditions such as jackets and tracksuit bottoms etc. We are on a cycle of tri-golf, rounders and athletics. Indoor PE takes place in the school hall (3A Monday, 3H Tuesday and 3S Wednesday). We will be doing circuit training for this half term which will be done in the hall, so trainers will be needed for indoor PE.

Inter-house Cross Country!
On Friday 29th March, the children in year 3 took part in inter-house cross country! All the children were amazing and everybody finished the race, despite it being a tricky track! We were very proud of the children and it demonstrated their growth mind-set perfectly.
Making Stonehenge in Year 3!
For their Stone Age topic, the year 3 children have been creating Stonehenge out of clay! Firstly, the children had to replicate Stonehenge and then they had the opportunity to create their own prehistoric monument and explain what it meant to them.
Stone Age Day
On Friday 15th March, year 3 had a brilliant Stone Age day! We made necklaces out of clay, huge mammoths that we painted and even had a campfire where we toasted some marshmallows. We then pretended we were hunters and threw foam javelins and dodgeballs at the woolly mammoths that we made earlier on in the day. Teachers and adults had a brilliant day! Here are some pictures of the day.
This week, the children have been involved with lots of VERY exciting activities. The first STEM week activity involved the children investigating Tangrams. Tangrams are an ancient Chinese puzzle. Each pair were given some shapes and then asked to create different shapes and figures using the different shapes! These were very tricky and lots of the children really had to use their growth mind-sets.
'Apollo Great Missenden!' March 2019
The children of Great Missenden School have had the most amazing week! Whilst Project Apollo was designed to land people on The Moon and bring them back safely, the children had the Moon brought to them! The children were able to examine all sorts of different rocks, including Earth rocks and Moon rocks.
