On Thursday, 11 children from year 5 accompanied Mr Kaye to a handball competition hosted at Little Kingshill School. The competition was fierce but the year 5’s worked incredibly hard to make their mark. The teams we were playing were well trained and we found it difficult to initially pick up the rules and attack. However, we showed true grit and determination by bouncing back from defeat and scoring some well-earned goals in the next few games – probably something to do with the growth mindset training the children are accustomed to. We battled through immense cold and even snow at one point to grab some deserved points in the next round. We finished fourth in the tournament but we got a special mention as the team that improved the most over the competition. I am certain that when we return again next year the children will be seasoned professionals.
