Today we will be learning all about alliteration. Alliteration is used in poetry to create different effects, either for a description or to create more drama or danger.

First of all please read through the PowerPoint below to learn all about alliteration and see some examples of alliterative sentences.

For your task, I would like you to write some alliterative sentences about dinosaurs. You can use the dinosaur word mat to help you with dinosaur names and spellings.

Here are some examples to help:

The dinosaurs desperately dug ditches to drive away dangerous dragons!

Timmy the tall T-Rex trotted home for tea.

Billy the Brachiosaurus bumped into a big branch.

Remember to use capital letters, finger spaces, full stops / exclamation marks and neat handwriting.
