Day 20: Friday 22nd May 2020
Morning lovely parents and children,
I honestly can't believe we have got to half term so quickly! What an amazing half term of distance learning. From the two weeks before Easter to where we are now… we have come so far on this journey and although its about to change again, I know whatever happens we will stay connected and make it work!
Yesterday was another scorcher! I went for a 10k walk in the morning with my sister before it got too hot and then we had a big staff meeting over zoom (about 50 people) which was to help us think about what needs to be put in place to create the best plan we can going forward. It was so nice to see all the teachers and LSAs faces, I am really missing everyone! Then after lunch in the garden it was back to the wonderful emails and one more quick bake for another friends birthday tomorrow!
So, it’s the half term holidays next week, which means no school work! Do you have any plans? The weather looks like it is here to stay so I am sure lots of time outside in paddling pools, having BBQs, playing on your bikes will be happening! I will be writing reports, enjoying the sunshine, painting the nursery and getting ready for the last half terms learning. So fairly busy here… Oh and its my birthday on Friday! So hopefully someone will make me some cakes! Hehee!
I know I have said this SO many times already but I really have been blown away by the amount of effort, dedication and hard work the children have put in to all their learning. The interactions I have had from the children and the parents has been an absolute pleasure and given this crazy situation, you have all done amazingly and gone above and beyond to make the best of a tricky time! My first class as 1BR are all wonderful individuals and I have been very lucky to be their teacher this year. What a team we have all made... Great Missenden School really is GREAT!
I would like each child to send me a "selfie" (just head and shoulders please) so that I can make a class photo as they won't be having the official one this year. I will also ask Miss Crick and Mrs Hanncock to do the same so we can all be in it. This will be sent to you so you can print it.
Happy Half Term! Stay safe, stay alert and have fun!
