Information about the first half term
The excitement is drawing nearer for the teachers and the children for September! We can't wait to see the children and are really looking forward to the first day - we will be out on the playground to meet you before the school starts!
Here is just information about what you can expect from us for the first half term and some information about what the children will need for the first half term.
Please note that there will be NO homework for the first half term to allow the children to settle in, but the children are expected to read at least 4 times a week (and entered into the reading record) and practice their times tables and spellings (which are set weekly).
Within the first week, your child will be sent home with a list of websites, logins and passwords stuck in their reading record to access Times Tables Rock Stars, Purple Mash, Spelling Shed and Mathletics.
If you are able to, please can the children bring in to school on the first day of term:
- A named pencil case
- several pencils
-a ruler (named)
-a pencil sharpener
If you are not able to, please do not worry. We have spare pencils and rulers at school.
Other things that may be useful to bring in:
-a named water bottle
-a coat with a name in (as the days get colder)
-hat and gloves (again if the days are cold)
-P.E kit (please see the timetables for when your children should bring these in).
If you are not able to supply any of these things, or have forgotten them, please let your child's class teacher know and they will endeavour to sort something for you.
