Day 16: Monday 18th May 2020
Good morning all,
Happy Monday… here we are again! I hope you have all had a lovely weekend and managed to get out and enjoy the weather. It looks set to be another nice week, we have been so lucky, everything seems a little easier when the sun is shining!
What did you get up to? Anyone finding any new ways to have fun!? I had a lovely relaxed one. Taking the opportunity to meet someone outside, still social distancing but having a walk and a catch up at the same time has been really refreshing! On Friday night we had a ‘French’ themed zoom family catch up which was really fun, we got dressed up and really embraced it! It was a celebration as Mr BR's Dad and Step Mum have a holiday home in Brittany and it is the 10th anniversary of when they bought it. We love it out there and go most years, so any excuse to have a party! We had planned it would be face to face but this had to do for now! They are sad as they would have been going out there today but obviously can't!
Then on Saturday night we did our weekly quiz with friends in the village which was the last one… we are all a bit quizzed out! So, it was a black tie and cocktail theme! Felt very funny getting dressed up with nowhere to go and not being about to have a cocktail!! Sunday I went for a 15k walk and then we just had a chilled-out afternoon really doing some jobs around the house and getting the room for the nursery sorted… we actually ordered our first items – the nursery furniture, very exciting!!!
This week in Maths, as you are used to now, we will be completing some activities and challenges which will be recapping what you have been learning this half term. This is a good way for me to see, you to see and your parents to see which parts you really understand and which parts might need a little bit more work. It is important you work through these independently, as remember what I say at school – I do not mind you getting them wrong as that means I know I need to help you more with that area! Put those amazing growth mindsets into action and see how you get on! On Friday I promise a interactive games session to end the half term!
Finally, I have posted it onto our class page for you to see the fab video Great Missenden staff have put together for you.. see who you can spot! The people that actually sang this song, The Kings Daughters, have 're-posted' our video and want to come and visit us at school... when we are allowed! How cool is that!!!?
Have a brilliant day today and a super week.
Love, Mrs Brooke-Read x
