Pactical Task - 12/11/24
1. Set up your "Number Shop":
- Use any small items at home to represent "price tags." These could be small toys, markers, or even pieces of paper.
- Label each item with a 2-digit number (e.g., 12, 25, 34, 47). Make at least 10 different items with prices ranging from 10 to 50.
2. Shopping Time:
- Pick any two items from your shop to "buy" and write down their prices on a piece of paper.
- Add the two numbers together to find the total cost.
- Check your answer by adding in different ways, such as using counters or a number line.
3. Record Your Answers:
- Make a list of at least 5 "purchases" you made (each with two items) and write down the total cost of each.
Example:
- If you pick an item labelled "23" and another labelled "35":
- Write down: 23 + 35 = ?
- Add them together to find the total cost.
4. Challenge Questions:
- Can you find two items that add up to exactly 50?
- What's the highest total you can make by picking any two items?
- What’s the smallest total?
