LO: To read as a writer
Follow the document to examine the breakdown of the text. Use your knowledge from your icons and actions to help you as you check over the piece of writing. When reading as a writer we are looking for features of the text that help us break it down and clarify the structure.
There are 3 challenges for you to choose from, once you’re certain of the paragraph breakdown, if you choose H&S you must also try one other challenge, if you try MH you must also try AYN?! and if you try AYN?! you must also do MH!
Make sure you read through all of the text first and examine the changes that could be made, so that you can see how the text has been split. After tackling the challenges send them to your teachers.

Hi Year 4,
Thank you for sending me all your fantastic work. You seem to have enjoyed looking closely at teeth. I hope you will really love this next Science session; it is one of my all-time favourites, but not for the squeamish! I am so sad that we won’t be able to do it together at school.
Today we are going to be looking at the human digestive system. You have a Powerpoint to follow, lots of short films to watch and a choice of three very different activities. Cara has already completed one of the challenges and she had a LOT of fun!
You may find it helpful to have a piece of paper and pencil ready while you follow the Powerpoint. Everything else you need for the challenges depends on which one you choose!
There are a variety of extension activities at the end of the Powerpoint if you would like to take this investigation further.
