Good morning all,
This is it… the last distance learning morning message… the last time the majority of you will complete distance learning. There will be lots of ‘last times’ over the next two or three days but remember as one door closes another one opens. We hope you enjoyed finding out interesting facts about your new schools yesterday and are excited about joining them in September.
For me, this was my first year 6 class and for the moment will be my last class. I am also starting a new chapter of my life next year as, in September, I am working in EVERY class. Like you, I also have mixed emotions. I am nervous about the new job role but excited about a fresh opportunity to try something completely new.
I suppose my advice over the next three days is cherish every moment. All too often we are looking forward at what is coming up but I would encourage you to appreciate what we have 😊 Laugh with your friends, reminisce about funny memories in the school and if there is something you’ve been wanting to say to someone for a while (making up for example)… do it!
We have got lots planned on Thursday and Friday and I know Miss Cartwright has already informed you of these. I will give you a brief reminder:
Personal Projects – Make sure they are finished and you know which bits you’d like to present to the class. Mr Kemp reminded you yesterday – If you’d like pictures or videos to run alongside your project presentation then please send these to your class e-mail addresses.
Tidying of books / classroom / popcorn and sweets when we’re finished – PLEASE BRING AN ADDITIONAL BAG TO TRANSPORT YOUR BOOKS HOME.
Dominoes Pizza for lunch – if you want a snack / pudding to accompany this, then please do.
Silent Disco – Be warned of Mr Kemp’s terrible moves.
Leavers Assembly - This will be available on Mr Tang’s YouTube channel at 9am. It will remain there so if you wish to watch it again later with your parents you will be able to do so.
Leavers' books, signing of t shirts etc.. – For this to work, adhering to social distance rules, we will be putting books and t shirts on tables so other bubbles can sign your belongings. You must have your own sharpie and you cannot be wearing your t shirt.
Ice Cream on the field – final goodbyes… with a flake.
I am genuinely gutted we haven’t had our usual year 6 but I have still loved every second of it. Year 6 you are all very special. You’ve smashed distance learning; you’ve smashed year 6… you’ve smashed Great Missenden.
Work for today:
1)Finish your personal project :)
If you wish to send pictures or videos to run alongside your presentation then please send to your class e-mail account today.
2) There was an optional survey to complete set last week (Wednesday 8th July). If you haven't completed this yet, and you haven't opted out, we'd love to hear from you.
See you all tomorrow 😊
