On a Monday in the class we always discuss our weekend, we go around a circle and take turns to talk about something that the children did over the weekend. Have a go in your family to talk about something you enjoyed doing this weekend.
The children are then going to write a sentence about their weekend, they can use the phase 2/3 mats to help and you can support them with creating a sentence. They might not want to write the whole sentence so you can write the rest for them.
Once they have managed to do some writing they can then draw and colour a picture of their weekend to go with it.
Things to remember- finger spaces between each word- let them use their finger to see how big the space needs to be.
Full stop at the end of the sentence- remind them it is like when you have finished talking about one thing.
