Attendance
Every School Day Counts!

At Great Missenden we want the amount of missed education to be reduced as much as possible. We believe that our community is stronger together, with all of our pupils in school, on time, every day. We are building life skills, life-long friendships and preparing your child for future success.
Attending school regularly gives our pupils more opportunities to learn and helps them to do better in school. It also helps them to stay connected with friends and teachers and makes it easier to keep up with what’s being taught.
We know that sometimes our pupils cannot come to school because they are really unwell - and that's the right thing to do for them and other children. Medical advice is clear that children with mild illness will often be well enough to attend - for example if they have a cough, or cold, without a temperature.
The NHS guidance Is my child too ill for school? is designed to support parents in their decision making about mild illness.
Thank you for your support in ensuring your child attends school regularly. If you have any concerns about your child's attendance please talk to us, we’re always here to help and support you and your child in any way we can.
Absence Request
Absence is not authorised for holidays, days out or sibling/family illness. We expect pupil attendance to be above 95% and absence during term time will only be authorised in EXCEPTIONAL CIRCUMSTANCES.
