Welcome

Year 1 is an exciting year as the children begin their journey into Key Stage 1. We work hard to make this transition as smooth and enjoyable as possible by creating fun, engaging lessons that help every child grow in confidence.

Our class is supported by Mrs Blake, Miss Crick, Miss Dale and Miss Moxon, who all play an important role in helping the children learn and thrive. Together, we encourage children to be curious, resilient learners who are willing to challenge themselves, have a go and never give up, even when something feels tricky.

We look forward to sharing all the wonderful learning and experiences that take place in Year 1 this year.

PE

Year 1 will have 2 PE sessions a week on a Wednesday and a Thursday.

Please ensure your child comes into school on these days in the appropriate kit. Earrings need to be removed or taped over and long hair should be tied back.

Reading

Reading books will go home on Thursday's and must be handed back on the following Thursday. Please make sure your child has their reading record in school every day.
