Spellings
From September onwards, weekly spelling tasks are set online using ‘Spelling Shed’. The children are then tested on their spellings at school every week on a Friday.
Please check your Spelling Shed account to look for the assignments set by your teacher. You can find the link to Spelling Shed below. Please also find spelling lists below and check back regularly for updates.

 Additionally, one weekly SPaG task, game or quiz will be set weekly on ‘Spelling Shed’ for children to practise wider grammar, sentence construction and punctuation skills.
Handwriting
There is a great focus on handwriting quality across the school, so this year in year 5 we are introducing handwriting homework. The children will be given a sentence including a couple of their spellings for the week, modelled in expected handwriting.
Please practice writing these in their handwriting books. We will be taking them in and checking on a Friday.
