  • Gardening

Fri 13 Nov 2020 Mrs Parriss

Year 6 have been working with Miss Chiles to get our vegetable patch easy for planting. They have thoroughly enjoyed getting stuck in and seeing Mrs Ward and Miss Chiles' fruits of labour from last year.

We are looking to have a great tidy up in the growing area, so when it is safe to do so we would love for some volunteers to come and help. Watch this space.

  • Year 6 Earth Day

Fri 18 Sep 2020 Miss Cartwright
The Year 6 children had a brilliant Earth day to kick start our Autumn term topic. The children took part in activities related to our topic and they thought carefully about the impact we have on our planet. From dressing up in Earthly outfits, to creating artwork, watching bits of ‘Extinction’ which sums our topic up brilliantly and making pledges for the future - we have made learning about climate change fun and educational. The highlight of the day was a visit from Mrs Walder-Davis who, along with her family, made one change a day in 2019 to help reduce their carbon footprint. She shared some incredible facts with the children and gave some very achievable ways in which children (and their families) can help our environment. A huge thank you to Mrs Walder-Davis and to all parents who have helped with costume creations. We would also like to take this time to thank Mrs Stacey who came and visited Year 6 on Friday to talk about emissions. She gave us more information on the different types of energy and how we can work to decrease our own emissions. We are so lucky to have many parents who work so closely with elements of our topic and who can come in and share what they know with the children

  • Year 6 Earth Day

    Wed 15 Jan 2020 Year 6 Team

The Year 6 children had a brilliant Earth day to kick start our Spring term topic. The children took part in activities related to our topic and they thought carefully about the impact we have on our planet. From dressing up in Earthly outfits, to creating artwork, planting bulbs and making pledges for the future - we have made learning about climate change fun and educational. The highlight of the day was a visit from Mrs Walder-Davis who, along with her family, made 1 change a day in 2019 to help reduce their carbon footprint. She shared some incredible facts with the children and gave some very achievable ways in which children (and their families) can help our environment.

  • Christmas Shows

    Fri 13 Dec 2019 Office

We have been treated to many performances this week, all with fabulous singing, dancing and lines.  EYFS performed ‘Shine Star, Shine’, KS1 performed their nativity ‘Hey Ewe!’, and the Year 3s did their Christmas performance at the church.  A busy, but amazing week, for everyone involved!  A huge well done to all the children and staff for making these performances incredibly memorable and fantastic.

  • Year 6 Enterprise Week

    Fri 06 Dec 2019 Year 6 Team
In Year 6, enterprise week is well and truly underway! The children have made stress balls, animal pine cones, Christmas trees made from the old library books, and pom-poms. Today they are making and bagging food for the reindeer, dressed as rockstars. They are very much looking forward to the Christmas market at 2pm on Thursday 12th December.  Many of the products will be made by the year 6s, e.g. reindeer food, hot chocolate bags, tiffins, gingerbread men, as well as Christmas trees, pompom keyrings, squishies, pine cone animals and silhouette candle jars.
