  • Bee Bunting Art Competition

    Thu 19 Sep 2013

There has been an amazing response so far to our latest art competition, but more entries are desperately needed. The competition itself has been organised by High Wycombe Bee Keepers Association who visited Year 3 back in May. As an Association their key role as a charity is to promote beekeeping through annual beekeeping courses and educational visits to schools. We have joined many other local schools in designing the bee bunting for their Autumn Gathering in October. The winning entry will get a selection of bee goodies as well as a class visit from the education’s team who will bring along lots of bee related resources as well as an observation hive containing live bees.

If your child has not yet entered and would like to, there are more templates available just find me at break time. The last day to enter is Friday 4th October 2013.

  • CHRISTMAS STAMP COMPETITION WINNERS ANNOUNCED

    Fri 13 Sep 2013
Back in July some of you may remember entering the Royal Mail’s Christmas Stamp Competition. As a school we entered over 80 beautiful designs ranging from reindeers to angels. The competition had a staggering 240,000 entries in total from across the UK. Sadly, we were unsuccessful in winning the competition but a gallery of the entries is now available on the website.www.royalmailstampcompetition.com/regional-finalists.

All the children who entered will receive a certificate for their efforts, it was great to take part in such an important competition and I look forward to seeing the winning stamps on our letters over Christmas!

  • Rachel Demuth Workshop

    Mon 02 Sep 2013

Members of the SNAG team enjoyed a really inspirational workshop with vegetarian chef Rachel Demuth in partnership with the Meat Free Monday organisation. Rachel owns a vegetarian restaurant and cookery school in Bath. She worked with the children making spaghetti vegetable salad with salsa verde, Vietnamese paper rolls and mango and kiwi salsa. Delicious!  Rachel then held a session with our catering team to give them some ideas for our Meat Free Monday menus.
