  • Year 2 Darvells Visit 2014

    Wed 12 Feb 2014

Year 2 had a great time when they visited Darvells' and Sons Family Bakers in Chesham on Tuesday 11th February. The children were taught how to bake bread by a master baker. They thoroughly enjoyed the experience and were all extremely proud of the seeeded loaves they had produced!

  • EYFS Science Investigation Afternoon

    Mon 03 Feb 2014

The children had a great time experimenting with a variety of fun scientific experiments. Such as ever changing gloop, shooting different kind of rockets, and an exploding volcano. We also learnt about day and night with shadow and investigated what happens when shaving foam, oil and coloured water is frozen.

We ended the fun afternoon with a big explosion in the playground by combining coke and mentos.

Thank you to all the parents who offered to help, I hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. Looking forward to the next one! :o)

  • Great Result for Great Missenden!

    Mon 03 Feb 2014

Great Missenden School is ranked 4th out of all 217 Bucks Primary Schools by the DFE for overall attainment (Average Point Scores) in reading, writing and maths at KS2.

These are the July 2013 results achieved by our 60 Year 6 pupils. The 3 schools ranked ahead of Great Missenden were smaller, with cohorts of 32, 26 and 35 children in Year 6.

Great Missenden is also ranked 12th out of 217 schools in the county for "Value Added" - which means the exceptional progress made by the children between KS1 and KS2.

    Well done school!!
