Forest School

Our Preschool class teacher, Mrs Swallow, is a qualified Forest School Leader. She will be running the Reception class Forest School session every Tuesday morning. 

Forest School is a unique and valuable experience where children are able to explore and experience appropriate risk and challenge. There is an underpinned holistic approach which enables development to thrive through a variety of activities and opportunities in a natural environment. The Forest School ethos is embedded into the learning experiences within the Early Years.

During Forest School sessions, children are encouraged to work with others to carry out activities such as den/ shelter building, role play, exploration, practical and creative skills and tasks. Children develop many skills which are transferable to the classroom, including problem solving, communication and team building.
