Forest School
Our Reception class teacher, Mrs Allison is a qualified Forest School Leader. The Forest School ethos is embedded into the learning experiences within the Early Years and we have a Forest School session every Wednesday morning.
Forest School is a unique and valuable experience where children are able to explore and experience appropriate risk and challenge. There is an underpinned holistic approach which enables development to thrive through a variety of activities and opportunities in a natural environment.
During Forest School sessions, children are encouraged to work with others to carry out activities such as den/ shelter building, role play, exploration, practical and creative skills and tasks. Children develop many skills which are transferable to the classroom, including problem solving, communication and team building.
I am sure that your child will make the most of this wonderful opportunity to learn outdoors, and apply their new learning within the classroom.
